New Jersey student sent home for dressing like Jesus

You may have seen the story on the news, during a Halloween celebration at a Paramus, NJ middle school in which the students were allowed to dress up, Alex Woinski was sent home because he chose to dress like Jesus. The school claims it was a distraction and that he wasn't sent home for religion reasons.

POINT #1
Isn't allowing students to dress up in thier Halloween costumes a "DISTRACTION" in the first place? How many kids had glue on scars falling off thier face onto thier desk all day? That sounds distracting. How many teen girls were scantily clad in a princess, fairy, flapper girl, etc etc? I bet that was distracting! Do the educators really expect to have a fully productive day on such an occasion?

POINT #2
The story claims his freinds already say his long hair makes him look like Jesus. Sounds like Alex is a distraction everyday! But he was sent home for dressing like someone he ALREADY RESEMBLES!!!

POINT #3
I was brought up hearing about the "separation between church and state", maybe I thought it was a good idea, maybe I just didnt pay much attention because I couldnt change things anyway. As I've grown older, become a husband, a parent and grown closer to my Lord and Saviour, I see that there needs to be a common thread between church and state - not a SEPARATION.

We (US Government) seems to be contradicting itself in the ideal of "The Separation". Meaning that we put the word "God" on most if not all our monuments and it appears on ALL of our currency. In GOD we TRUST. But we tell our educators and our children that they cannot engage in prayer at school.

Do you really think when our forefathers were writing the Constitution, Bill of Rights, etc. That they envisioned this world we live in today? And the extent of our problems? Our relationships with foreign countries? Our relationships with each other?

I think we need to get back to some fundamentals of life. Take care of our own first. Use our own resources within our own boundaries....FIRST. I'm not talking elimination of foreign items such as fuel, but find it here, take care of our own children, hungry and sick. There will be surplus after we do that, but spend the first dollars within our own borders on our own people...AMERICANS.

I'd like to hear others thoughts on these subjects, maybe I will learn that I am off my rocker...Maybe I will learn that I'm in a big boat...either way I learn something.
